Visual Music Design built the SeeMusic application as a commercial application. SeeMusic is provided by Visual Music Design and is intended for use as provided.

This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected when you use SeeMusic or visit the SeeMusic website, how that information is used, and the choices available to you.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

​

If you create a SeeMusic account, contact us, or purchase a subscription, we may receive information such as:

• Your email address and account information;

• Information you submit when requesting support;

• Subscription status, product type, expiration information, and related transaction identifiers; and

• Other information you voluntarily provide.

Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers or application stores. Visual Music Design does not receive or store your complete payment-card information.

Anonymous Usage Analytics on Windows

​

The Windows version of SeeMusic uses GameAnalytics to help us understand whether the application is working effectively and where users encounter difficulty.

​

The analytics information may include:

• Whether content was imported or loaded;

• Whether playback or MIDI recording was started;

• Whether a MIDI keyboard was connected;

• Whether an upgrade screen was viewed;

• Whether checkout was opened or a subscription became active;

• Session dates and times;

• A randomly generated installation identifier that persists between sessions;

• Basic technical information such as operating-system platform, application build, SDK version, and device type; and

• An anonymized Internet Protocol address and approximate geographic information derived from the connection.

The information sent to GameAnalytics does not include your email address, SeeMusic account identifier, filenames, MIDI or musical content, payment information, screen recordings, or exported media. Error and exception reporting through GameAnalytics is disabled.

Analytics Choice

​

Anonymous usage analytics are enabled by default in the Windows version of SeeMusic. You can disable future analytics event submission at any time by opening the subscription or account area and using the Anonymous Analytics control beside the Privacy Policy button.

Turning analytics off does not affect SeeMusic features, account access, or your subscription. It does not delete information that was collected before analytics was disabled.

Other versions of SeeMusic, including the macOS, iOS, and Android versions, do not currently use this GameAnalytics integration.

Diagnostic and Log Data

​

When an application error occurs, SeeMusic or service providers used to operate and support the application may generate diagnostic information. Depending on the platform and circumstances, this information may include the operating-system version, application configuration, date and time, device or platform information, and technical details about the error.

Diagnostic information is used to maintain the reliability and security of SeeMusic. GameAnalytics error and exception reporting is disabled and is not used for this purpose.

Screen Recording and Local Media

​

SeeMusic may record the device’s screen when you use the Video Capture feature. After recording, you may save the video to your local device.

Visual Music Design does not receive, retain, or transmit the resulting video through the Video Capture feature. MIDI files, media files, and exported content remain on your device unless you independently choose to share or upload them using another service.

Website and Cookies

​

The SeeMusic desktop and mobile applications do not use browser cookies for the GameAnalytics integration described above.

The SeeMusic website is hosted using Wix and may use cookies or similar technologies necessary to operate the website, remember preferences, understand website traffic, and provide website features. Available cookie choices may be presented through the website’s cookie controls.

Your browser may also allow you to block or delete cookies. Disabling necessary cookies may affect the operation of some website features.

How We Use Information

We may use collected information to:

• Provide and operate SeeMusic;

• Create and maintain user accounts;

• Process and verify subscriptions;

• Provide customer support;

• Understand application usage and improve the user experience;

• Diagnose technical problems;

• Protect the security and integrity of the Service;

• Comply with applicable legal obligations; and

• Enforce our agreements and protect our legal rights.

We do not sell personal information or use SeeMusic analytics information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Service Providers

We may use third-party service providers to assist with functions such as:

• Account hosting and authentication;

• Subscription and payment processing;

• Application distribution;

• Website hosting;

• Customer support;

• Product analytics; and

• Technical diagnostics.

These providers may process information only as necessary to perform services on our behalf or as otherwise described in their own privacy policies and applicable agreements.

GameAnalytics acts as an analytics service provider for the Windows usage information described above.

Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including providing the Service, maintaining appropriate business and transaction records, resolving disputes, complying with legal obligations, and protecting our rights.

Analytics information is retained according to our GameAnalytics settings and applicable service agreements. Information may subsequently be deleted or aggregated so that it is no longer associated with an individual installation.

International Processing

Visual Music Design and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, we use appropriate contractual or legal safeguards for international transfers of personal information.

Security

We value your trust and use commercially reasonable measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. We therefore cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Privacy Rights

​

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning your personal information, including rights to request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of certain processing.

You may contact us to submit a privacy request. We may need information reasonably necessary to verify the request and locate the relevant records. Because GameAnalytics uses a random installation identifier that is not connected to a SeeMusic account, we may not always be able to associate analytics records with your name or email address.

You may disable future Windows analytics event submission directly within the application using the Anonymous Analytics control.

SeeMusic may contain links to websites or services that are not operated by Visual Music Design. If you follow a third-party link, that third party’s privacy policy and practices will apply.

We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of third-party websites or services.

Children’s Privacy

​

SeeMusic is not directed to children under 13, and Visual Music Design does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without appropriate authorization.

If we learn that a child under 13 has provided personal information without appropriate authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. A parent or guardian who believes that a child has provided personal information may contact us.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.

Changes become effective when the updated policy is posted, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
